What temperature do you think your BODY would reach? I am researching infared saunas vs. hot yoga practices (such as Bikram). One source (wikipedia) said the heaters in infared saunas will range from 120 to 140 °F (43 to 54 °C), but no mention of body temperature. And a direct Bikram source said their classes are ideally set at 105 degrees F (again no mention of body temp, but I'm guessing it's be the same due to the type of heat used -- not wavelengths). I'm curious to know how the body would respond to these types of heating sources, ie. the sauna heating your core with wavelengths vs. Bikram heating the air PLUS the heat you'd generate from doing the yoga exersises. Somehow the Bikram heat does not sound very healthy, but there's certainly lots of devoted followers.

We've conducted a research to check the body temperture in an infrared sauna during and after a 30 minute session. The results conculded that the core body temperture was raised by 3°F and the body surface temperture was raised by 14°F

Below is the research summery during and after the sauna session:

How is the sauna going to be shipped? Will it fit in my front door?

this question was asked by Jeniffer on Aug 9th 2008, 11:22 pm

Answer and Comments

Our saunas are pacakaged in three boxes that can easily go through any standard household doors.

Free Delivery is a curb side delivery. The driver will lower the sauna off the truck and drop it on the curb side or the first dry area. The driver will NOT bring the sauna inside the house. At least two adults are required to move it inside.

We also offer inside placement and installation services.

What type of wood is this made from ? Is it solid wood or does it have any veneer?

this question was asked by Vicky on Aug 8th 2008, 10:22 pm

Answer and Comments

Crystal Infrared Saunas are made of 100% imported Canadian Hemlock-Fir. Hemlock-Fir is a perfect combination of strength and extraordinary beauty and is quite literally one of the most handsome, elegant and versatile softwood species combinations on the market today. Hem-Fir lumber is light and bright in color, varying from a creamy, nearly-white to a light, straw-brown color. Hemlock-Fir products are resawed into wood paneling, cabinets and trim, such as solid wood doors, shutters, case goods, furniture and more. Majority of our products are made of Hemlock-Fir.

We do make our sauna rooms with optional Red Cedar to better meet our customer's various preferences.

Western Red Cedar is renowned for its natural beauty and outstanding physical properties that make it one of the world's most unique softwood species. This exceptionally beautiful wood has natural coloring in mellow ambers, reddish cinnamons and rich sienna browns. It is free from pitch and its heartwood has natural decay resistance. Its low density gives it an insulation value superior to most other species. Light weight, easy to work, easy to finish, possessing outstanding dimensional stability, Western Red Cedar is a preferred wood for nearly all purposes where attractive appearance or resistance to weather is important.

Crystal saunas are made with selected premium hemlock and red cedar solid wood, with no veneer.
